IPL/Laser Treatments
What is IPL Hair Removal?
IPL Hair Reduction treatment targets unwanted hair growth over a course of treatments. It uses non-invasive, broad-spectrum light to treat unwanted hair on the face and body. Using Intense Pulsed Light technology, we aim to cause targeted destruction of hair follicles without causing thermal trauma to the surrounding tissue.
Considerations?
In order to achieve an effective result, 6 -10 treatments once every 4-8 weeks is required depending on the area being treated.
What is IPL Vascular Treatment?
IPL Vascular treatment is a non-ablative procedure that uses intense pulsed light to target haemoglobin in the skin, heating and damaging unwanted vessels. Damaged vessels are then removed via the lymphatic system, resulting in a more even skin tone.
Typically, this treatment is used to spot treat vascular lesions of the face
and upper body
Considerations?
IPL Vascular treatment has minimal downtime.Depending on the extent of your concern, typically 2 – 4 treatments are recommended at 1 – 2 week intervals with maintenance treatments recommended every 3 – 6 months.
Some cases are considered unsuitable for treatment:
Any vascular lesion below the heart Fitzpatrick Skin Type V & VI
What is IPL Acne Therapy?
IPL Acne treatment is a non-ablative procedure that uses intense pulsed light to target c.acnes bacteria in the skin. C. acnes bacteria live in an oxygen free environment and produce endogenic porphyrins. When these porphyrins absorb blue light, free radical damage and
oxygen is produced. This process destroys the bacteria and reduces associated inflammation, assisting with resolution of acne lesions.
Considerations?
IPL Acne treatments involve little downtime. Depending on the severity of the client’s concern, typically 2 treatments are recommended per week, for the first 2 – 4 weeks. Maintenance can be performed weekly to monthly, as required.
What is IPL Pigmentation Therapy?
IPL Pigmentation treatment is a non-ablative procedure that uses intense pulsed light to target melanin in the skin, heating and shattering the brown pigment. Damaged melanin is then removed either via the lymphatic system, or micro-crusts on the surface of the skin and naturally sloughs off, resulting in a more even skin tone. Typically, this treatment is used to spot treat areas of pigmentation.
Considerations?
IPL Pigmentation treatment requires minimal downtime. Depending on the extent of the area being treated, typically 2 – 4 treatments are recommended at monthly intervals (face), or 6 – 8 week intervals (decolletage, arms or upper back), with maintenance treatments recommended every 6 months to 1 year.
What is IPL Photorejuventation?
IPL Photorejuvenation is a non-ablative procedure that uses intense pulsed light to target water in the skin, heating the water to trigger a wound healing response. This process stimulates collagen and elastin production along with several of the skin’s self-rejuvenating mechanisms to improve the signs of ageing and improve skin texture and tone.
Considerations?
IPL Photorejuvenation involves little downtime. Depending on the severity of the area to be treat, typically 4 – 6 treatments are recommended at monthly intervals, with maintenance treatments recommended every 3 – 6 months.
